Holy Concentration is my attempt to fill a gap in the World of Warcraft blogging universe.
I am, at best, a mediocre healer and roleplayer, and my experiences in Azeroth are coloured by this.
As a healer, there are a number of amazing blogs to which I subscribe. These are all linked here for convenience, and I strongly recommend you check them out. They are a wonderful source of insight, and have made view things differently on more than one occasion.
However, great as they are, none of them addressed my particular play style. I will never be a great raider, (I lack the commitment and drive) and I am thus unlikely to see the inside of most raid encounters until I vastly over-gear them. So, while knowing the theory behind the various raid bosses may be interesting, it’s knowledge I will never get to apply directly.
Instead, I am happiest just taking my time and exploring the world of Azeroth. I like spending time going off the beaten track, finding the oddities that Blizzard have hidden away.
My chosen niche in this world is that of a Priest, though I confess to having more alts than is healthy! I have played most classes to a greater or lesser extent, but I have never felt comfortable with Warlocks or Warriors. I’m fine with this, really. Alethiar is the character I now consider my main, and I am keen to make up for lost time with her.
As a result, you can expect me to write from a healing perspective for most of the time, but don’t be surprised if I wander off into discussions of other classes. I promise, I’ll try to keep it on track!
I also enjoy roleplaying, though I find I do it less and less these days. A few bad experiences in WoW made me reluctant to join in, and I sort of drifted into spending more time in my own company. I do still retain those old habits though. I still bow deferentially when handing in quests to The Dark Lady, (even when there’s no-one around to see). I mean, it would be rude to do otherwise, right?
I hope that this blog might prove useful to someone, and that there may be things that others can take from it. Even if that is simply how not to do things, that’s fine with me.
Please feel free to leave me comments and I will try my best to respond.
